Objective 1 — AnswerWho committed the murder?

The killer is Shreya Malhotra — interior designer, and Vikram's girlfriend.

The miscarriage report. On October 17, Dr. Sharma sent Rajveer a file titled S.Malhotra_2011_Miscarriage_Report.pdf in exchange for ₹2,50,000 — two days before Priya even announced her pregnancy. The "S. Malhotra" in that file name is Shreya, and it points to a miscarriage thirteen years earlier, right after Arjun's death.
The blackmail messages. Rajveer's WhatsApps to Shreya on October 19 were threats, not disapproval: Do you think Vikram would still be with you if he knew who you really are? and You know very well what would make him walk away from you.
The final ultimatum. His last message to Shreya, at 12:34 PM on the day of the murder — My conscience is clear. This was my final warning. — is what pushed her to act.
Objective 2 — AnswerWhat was the motive?

Blackmail over a secret past: Shreya was Arjun Rathore's secret fiancée.

2011 — the engagement. Shreya Malhotra (20) and Arjun Rathore (25) had known each other since school and were secretly engaged. She became pregnant.

Arjun's death. The morning he died, Arjun called his mother to introduce his fiancée; that afternoon he fell from the 12th floor of a Rathore Realty construction site and was killed — ruled accidental. Rajveer had already met Shreya; Sunita confirms he knew of the relationship, even though she never did.

The miscarriage. In the weeks after Arjun's death, Shreya lost the pregnancy — the loss later documented in the report Rajveer obtained.

Vikram. Around 2019 Shreya began seeing Vikram — Arjun's younger brother, who had been just 13 when Arjun died. Over five to six years together, she never told him who she had once been.

October 2024. Rajveer recognised her, paid Dr. Sharma ₹2,50,000 for the medical records on October 17, and used them to demand she leave Vikram or be exposed. Rather than lose everything again, she killed him.

Objective 3 — AnswerHow was the murder carried out?

Sedative-laced water, then a gunshot from Rajveer's own .32 revolver — with Priya framed as the scapegoat.

10:03 AM. Rajveer sends his threatening messages to Shreya.
12:29 PM. Rajveer texts Priya ("Lovee") to come to the farmhouse at 6:30 PM.
12:34 PM. His final warning lands with Shreya.
12:35 PM & 1:15 PM. Shreya and Sanjay spoke twice that afternoon — she called him at 12:35 PM, and he called her back at 1:15 PM. Through her father's contacts she learns Priya is due at the farmhouse that evening.
5:01 PM. Sunita calls Vikram about Rajveer's meeting; Shreya offers them privacy and leaves the flat.
6:12 PM. Her bank record puts her at Ambience Mall — deliberate distance from home.
~6:00–6:30 PM. Shreya reaches the Chattarpur farmhouse ahead of Priya and drugs the water on Rajveer's desk, knowing he is expecting Priya.
~7:00 PM onward. Priya arrives; over the next half-hour or so both drink the drugged water, and Priya passes out. The autopsy later confirms sedative medication in Rajveer's system, and Priya's own statement — that she drank water from Rajveer's desk just before blacking out — points to the same spiked glass. One source, two victims: he is sedated, she is unconscious, and neither can resist.
8:30–9:30 PM. With Priya out cold and Rajveer sedated, Shreya takes his revolver — she has known where he keeps it for years — and shoots him.
~9:00–9:30 PM. She leaves Priya at the scene as the obvious suspect, given Priya's motive.
10:15 PM. Priya comes round, finds Rajveer dead, and calls the police.
10:21 PM. Shreya's bank record puts her at Khan Chacha's, Khan Market — on a plausible route back from Chattarpur toward Cyber City.
Objective 4 — AnswerDid the killer receive assistance?

No. Shreya Malhotra acted alone.

Sanjay Malhotra. He paid Priya for information on Rajveer, but had no knowledge of the murder. His alibi holds — FitLife Cafe at 9:42 PM and ITC Maurya at 10:02 PM, both away from Chattarpur around the murder window. What he ran was business espionage, not a killing.

Why she worked alone. The motive was intensely personal — that Shreya had been Arjun's pregnant fiancée was known only to her and Rajveer. Bringing anyone in risked exposing the very secret she was killing to protect. She could not confide even in her own father.

Why she didn't need help. Thirteen years inside the Rathore family's orbit — first through Arjun, then Vikram — gave her everything: access to the farmhouse, knowledge of the gun collection, and the ability to move through the household without raising a single question.

The Confession

In the words of Shreya Malhotra

Rajveer never liked me, and no one ever knew the real reason but me.

I knew Arjun from school — he was five years my senior. It grew into something more during my college years, and stayed that way until the day he died in 2011. I was twenty, and I was pregnant. Only Arjun knew. That morning he called his mother; he was finally going to introduce me as his fiancée.

That afternoon he went to one of Rajveer's construction sites and fell from the twelfth floor. They called it an accident. I have never been sure. Within two weeks I lost the baby too. I lost everything in fourteen days.

Years later I met Vikram — Arjun's little brother, barely thirteen when we lost Arjun. He wouldn't give up, and eventually I let myself feel something again. I never told him about Arjun. How could I, when he worshipped his brother's memory?

Rajveer remembered me from 2011. The moment I started seeing Vikram, he knew. He dug up my medical records, paid a doctor for the miscarriage report, and started asking me things like whether Vikram would still want me if he knew who I really was. He told me to leave Vikram or he would burn everything down.

I could not lose another Rathore. When I learned Priya was going to be there that evening, I understood what I could do. I drugged the water. Priya went under. And I took his gun.

He should have left us alone. I'm not sorry for what I did. I'm only sorry Vikram had to find out the truth this way.
